Camp Staff

Kiersten Twitchell, LCSW

I have worked with children and teens for over 15 years, and during much of that time, I spent my summers in a camp setting.  I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and worked in New York City for 10 years after receiving my Master’s from NYU.  I spent three years working as a Counselor at the Reece School, which is how I got connected to Camp Reece.

I’m originally from Kansas City, Kansas and currently live in Nashville, Tennessee.  My favorite activities are yoga, being in nature, spending time with my friends and hanging out with my husband and two dogs – Jackson and Kennedy.  Jackson is also one of our camp dogs – he loves it there!  I am excited about many things this summer – getting to know all of the amazing campers and staff, being outside all day, and going on adventures like white water rafting and high ropes!

See you this summer!

Octavia Man

I am originally from Romania but I have been living in US since 2001. I live in Brewster, NY with my husband and my son, Markus. Right now I am a swimming instructor at Reece School but previously I worked as Aquatics supervisor at Green Chimneys School and Hillside Summer Camp for a total of 16 years.

I love sports and I love to read and go on hikes.

I love to meet new campers every year as much as I love to meet new counselors. I think camp is a great environment to create lifelong friendships. Can’t wait to meet everyone this summer.

Sophie Lester

Hi! My name is Sophie. I’m a returning Reece counselor. I’m from Brewster NY. I currently attend Ithaca College and am a Speech-Language Pathology major.

I enjoy tubing, high ropes, and swimming. I’m excited to go on new adventures and create lasting memories thus summer at camp.

Jessica Lydon

I am from Kent in England but I live on the border of London so I have spent lots of time exploring London.

My favourite activities include; cooking, reading and travelling. I love exploring new places and going on adventures, but I also enjoy being at home with my family.

The thing I am most looking forward to is making lots of new friends from all over the world. I love to learn about new cultures, I had so much fun last year learning about all the campers and counsellors that I cannot wait to make more friends this year. The activities I am most excited about include returning to six flags and white water rafting. Hopefully I won’t fall off the raft this time. 😁

My favorite activities are:
• When I am at home I play rugby for my local team which I absolutely love
• At University I play Ultimate Frisbee, learning a new sport has been an amazing way to make new friends!
• My favourite thing about going home is that I get to see my family (but mainly my dog)
• I love to go camping and explore different places with my friends
• I also love drawing and hope one day in the future to specialise in art therapy

I am most excited about going on an adventure to somewhere I have never been before, meeting lots of new people from different places, and making new friends. Hopefully making a difference to the lives of the young people I work with!
