The Graphic design summer program embraces the entire range of visual communication, recognizing that design is a cultural force that spans consumer, commerce and social causes. Reece’s professional team from around the world will provide a robust curriculum of conceptual problem solving, innovation, critical thinking and formal design, as well as branding and marketing strategies.
Seed to Table is our garden-based program at Camp Reece, designed to get campers learning about the world through hands-on experiences. By working in the garden campers are challenged to interact with each other in new ways and cooperate to achieve a common goal in an environment that encourages exploration, play, and creativity. Campers also harvest and prepare delicious, seasonal recipes in our kitchens to help develop a lifetime of healthy eating habits.
Every culinary class will teach specific skills, which will increase in complexity as campers’ skills grow and develop. Beginning with basic palate training, our culinary arts instructors will help train children’s senses; taste, smell and sight. Each child’s evolution will continue from an introduction to mastery of culinary techniques such as knife skills, cooking methods, sauce making, and pastry and baking. Reece’s Culinary Arts program offers different chef-instructors over the span of the summer so campers learn from a diverse range of experts.
The Hudson River is rated as one of the top ten whitewater rafting experiences in the U.S. Seventeen miles of great class III-IV+ whitewater combined with spectacular scenery will provide each camper with memories that will last a lifetime. With weekly trips each cabin will participate in a full day trip taking them through the heart of the six million acre Adirondack Park.
We offer a wide range of water sports at Camp Reece! Our staff is ready to instruct campers in a variety of activities including wake boarding, waterskiing, tubing, kayaking, and more.
